This initiative was sponsored by the Development Commissioner (DC) Handicrafts, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, under its mission to preserve and promote India's rich handicraft traditions while ensuring economic empowerment for marginalized artisans.
The workshop focused on modern and traditional embroidered jewellery-making techniques, ensuring artisans learned intricate beadwork, thread embroidery, and contemporary designs. Industry experts provided hands-on training, equipping artisans with market-oriented skills to enhance product appeal and commercial value.
Beyond technical training, artisans were educated on branding, packaging, pricing, and market linkages to help them sell their products effectively. The program also emphasized entrepreneurship, enabling artisans to form self-help groups and explore online and offline sales channels.
This workshop played a crucial role in preserving the traditional art of embroidered jewellery while offering a sustainable livelihood for SC artisans. With continued support from DC Handicrafts and Rajendra Prasad Sewa Sansthan, the artisans will expand their reach in national and international markets, ensuring long-term economic independence.Let me know if you need any modifications or want images added to this article! 😊
